Wibu-Systems named SIIA Business Technology CODiE Award Finalist for Best Content Rights & Entitlement Solution and Best Endpoint Management Solution
Wibu-Systems, the world-leading company in secure license management in the industrial space, announced today that CodeMeter has been named a 2017 SIIA CODiE Awards finalist in the Best Content Rights & Entitlement Solution category, and CodeMeter Embedded 2.0 named a 2017 SIIA CODiE Awards finalist in the Best Endpoint Management Solution category. The finalists represent the best products, technologies, and services in software, information, and business technology.
With its robust protection mechanisms against piracy and reverse engineering and its flexible licensing options, CodeMeter is a business enabler that monetizes the scalable licensing models required to meet the dynamic user demands of today and tomorrow.
Additionally, CodeMeter Embedded 2.0 is a modular and scalable environment for IoT endpoints that provides embedded applications with top-notch security features and the most versatile license entitlement management capabilities yet. The technology supports all of the most common development platforms IDMs rely upon, including Intel x86, PPC, ARM, Windows, Linux, Android, VxWorks, and QNX.
Encryption keys, trust lists, and license-based configuration data are stored in the smart card chip on board an industry-grade hardware secure element (a USB dongle, memory card, or ASIC) or a secure file bound to a hardware element of the target machine, like a TPM. This specific feature, fully integrated into an ANSI C-based OPC UA SDK, elevates OPC UA native security standards to new levels.
CodeMeter Embedded 2.0 comes in a customizable and always compact size that meets the hardware constraints of embedded systems and provides all core security and licensing features without compromising performance, even when handling access from several applications concurrently. Its full compatibility with CodeMeter makes it possible to orchestrate a wide array of Wibu-Systems flagship technology flavors even in complex systems that consist of industrial computers, mobile devices, embedded systems, PLC, and microcontrollers. This endpoint security-ready package also works with CodeMeter License Central to create, deliver, monitor, and manage licenses. Its extreme flexibility makes it a perfect tool for generating after-sales revenue models.
The SIIA CODiE Awards are the premier awards for the software and information industries, and have been recognizing product excellence for over 30 years. The awards offer 93 categories that are organized by industry focus of education technology and business technology. CodeMeter was honored twice among the 205 finalists across 59 business technology categories.
“I am impressed by the level of innovation and creativity of the products that have been selected as this year's CODiE Award finalists. We are happy to recognize these products and the power they have to transform the future of how we do business”, said Ken Wasch, President of SIIA.
Oliver Winzenried, CEO and founder of Wibu-Systems and recently named 2017 Top Embedded Innovator, is thrilled by this unprecedented acknowledgement “We have run for the CODiE Awards year after year and reached the final and winning stages numerous times. This year’s result is unprecedented though: CodeMeter is receiving acclaim in two categories and showing all its versatility and strength as an endpoint security solution. This achievement underlines its flexible and agnostic capability to serve the industrial internet of things.”
The SIIA CODiE Awards are the industry's only peer-recognized awards program. Business technology leaders including senior executives, analysts, media, consultants, and investors evaluate assigned products during the first-round review to determine the finalists. SIIA members then vote on the finalist products and the scores from both rounds are tabulated to select the winners. Winners will be announced during the CODiE Award Business Technology Winner Announcement & Celebration, July 25 in San Francisco.
